Printing in Paris

The economic situation is not getting any better, but marketers are getting smarter. American, German, British, Canadian, Australian, Chinese and Japanese marketers on their way to Paris should stop and think before they load up a plane with 50 kilos of printed paper materials.  Why?  Because they can easily save money and time and effort by e mailing LALANDE your graphically-rich PDF and letting us do the proofing, printing and delivery of brochures, cards, flyers, catalogs and posters for you.  Need to talk or e mail for an estimate? No problem because we speak your language. Save money, save time and work smarter by working with us.  We speak your language.

The 7th Annual Dormouse Conference Paris!

We wager you've never really considered where the Woodland Dormouse sleeps.  Yes, the Graphiurus Murinus, does like his/her nestbox as illustrated here in this 100 x 70 cm poster we printed for Emmanuel Dolinhsan for the 7th Annual Conference on the... you guessed it, the incredibly adorable and extremely industrious Dormouse.  The job, a rush rush production for a presentation at the Paris Conference was delivered at the client's hotel in Paris.  How did Emmanuel find us?  He Googled: English-language Printer in Paris.

A nice note from Emmanuel followed delivery: "Dear Robert and Matthew... Thanks a lot! We received the poster and are very satisfied. The service you provide is so convenient ! Keep up the good work. For once it feels good to be a client !

Kind regards, Emmanuel"

It is a pleasure to work with people who want to work with you. Giving a presentation in Paris this Fall?  Get in touch!

Conference in Paris: English Language Printer

Chris Campbell, Channel Sales Manager – North America for dotMobi (mTLD Top Level Domain Ltd.) had a conference in Paris at the Le Méridien Montparnasse and wrote Lalande Digital Press Paris in a bit of a panic: "I'm in need of additional business cards... can you help me out?" Within an hour, around midnight, a PDF was produced and was printed. By the time Chris, who works out of Oregon, arrived at his hotel he was ready to network, his cards in hand. "It was outstanding! Thanks so much for the fast reply and quick, expert service. Fantastic to find an English language printer in Paris," he wrote.

Then, Kelly Hardy, a journalist who works with Marksmen, Inc. in Glendale, California, wrote us at 1 am on Saturday night. She, too, needed cards. We e mailed back and forth (she was staying at the Le Concorde Montparnasse, next to the conference center at the Meridien), and assembled the graphic elements, produced a PDF for her approval and by 2:30 am Saturday night she knew she'd be ready to roll by Monday morning. "You saved my life," she said. Not really, but unlike many service businesses in Paris, we really do not close. We're always open.

Heading to Paris for a conference? Why bother lugging 50 kilos of books, catalogs, banners and flyers? Send us your PDFs, we'll print your material here in Paris, and deliver it all to your hotel or conference center. All you have to do is open the boxes. The savings in air transport are considerable. Plus, we speak your language: Business.

Space Exploration: CSIS

Space and time, thanks to Einstein, has been inextricably linked. But the connection is complex and there's an endless (human) need for explication and education about exploring these bedfellows. Lalande Digital Press Paris helped in its way working with the Washington D.C. group, Center for Strategic and International Studies.

We received an urgent e-mail message from Ryan Faith at CSIS about an international meeting to be held in Paris in late March. CSIS required 100 copies of a 24-page book for the meeting. "Could it be delivered in three days?" he asked? Yes, we could and did (actually two days). Files were transferred and Lalande Wizard Robert Ruscoe worked late into the starry night to get the job done and delivered before the meeting began. Ryan was happy to have an English language printer based in Paris to help make the conference a success.

The CSIS provides strategic insights and policy solutions to decisionmakers in government, international institutions, the private sector, and civil society. A bipartisan, nonprofit organization the group with some 220 full time staffers conducts research and analysis and develops policy initiatives that look into the future and anticipate change. CSIS is primarily focused on defense and security, regional stability, and transnational challenges ranging from energy and climate to global development and economic integration.

Lyn Wigbels, Senior Associate, CSIS, was in Paris to receive the books for her meeting. Her note: "Thank you for the wonderful printing job you did on the Center for Strategic and International Studies Human Space Exploration Education report. My colleague, Ryan Faith, and I were very impressed with how you responded to our need to have the reports ready by Wednesday, 26 March, for our meeting with experts from all over the world. The documents you delivered were quite attractive, very professionally produced, and arrived in good shape. We greatly appreciate your professionalism and responsiveness to our business needs!"

Robert Ruscoe: Lalande Wizard

Robert Ruscoe, my friend and partner at Lalande, is an Englishman who crossed the Channel to France some 25 years ago "to work on his French, make art, make a fortune and drink better wine."

He's done all of those and at the same time has become a master digital printer, ad proofer, photo retoucher and has made more than 1000 highly detailed rubber stamps. We first exhibited together in Paris Mail Art in 2003, a show curated by Christian Balmier, and have been friends ever since and partners soon thereafter.

There's very little Robert doesn't know how to do with a computer or a computer file, and more importantly, turning those computer files which confound all of us, into valuable printed material. I've never seen anyone work a Quark layout as fast as he does. He's an expert on the Xerox, the Konica Business Hub and the two Epson inkjet printers. And Robert is going nuts these days making books on a new machine he picked up that binds and glues (hard or soft cover) books of all sizes, shapes and flavors. He produced a wedding book (for himself) and just published a dozen copies of a 48-page book about his Spring trip to Venice. I'm still waiting for my copy.

This portrait (above) of Robert at the studio in the 15th is by Lalande client, the Paris-based Dutch photographer, Jeremy Stigter.
